Considering points to maximize the pros of Amazon cloud in operation aspects

이번 포스트의 주제는 대규모 Public cloud 사용을 위한 운영적 관점에서의 고려사항에 대한 것입니다.


Public cloud 사용을 고려중인 기업이라면 아마도 Amazon cloud를 가장 높은 우선순위에 두고 고려할 것으로 생각됩니다. 강력한 기능들을 보유한 Amazon cloud는 한 마디로 Scriptable Infra를 표방하면서 세계적인 public cloud로 각광받아 왔습니다. 하지만, 이러한 환경을 사용하는데 있어 그 장점을 극대화하기 위해서는 몇 가지 운영적 관점에서 고려해야 할 사항들을 집어보고자 합니다.(아래표 참조)

The theme of this post is what the considering points to use public cloud  are in aspect of operation. 


The companies which are considering public cloud for their new services may consider Amazon cloud as a high priority. As you may know, Amazon cloud claim to support as 'Scriptable Infra' and have been taken center stage globally. However, I'd like to touch some considering points to maximize the pros of Amazon cloud environments in aspect of operation.(Please find that at the table below)

Considering points to maximize the pros 

Cost efficiency to build system in early stage :

No need fixed cost(Installing H/W, Operating H/W, Cooling system, Power supply etc.) to build huge systems. 

Monitoring resources' usage & right level control :

We need a governance system in the organization to use external public cloud resources to control and prohibit some avoid some abuse.

On-demand-Infra :

Resolve the problems that the cases which there's no many traffic as we expected and the difficulties to deal with burst unexpected traffic occurred.

DevOps support :

To maximize and customize the functionality of public cloud's scriptable infra and interoperability between development and operation.  

Set the price as we use :

Only pay for the used resources(do not need to pay if we didn't use even though assign the resources for us). Hence we can expect entirely different level's cost efficiency. 

Standardization basic architectures :

Need to review system architecture of each services for selecting proper instance type and standardize dualization architecture and back-up plan in aspect of operation.
